Introducing Enkihost: Managed Hosting for Ruby, Sinatra, and Jekyll
Today marks an exciting milestone: I can finally share one of my favorite projects, Enkihost.com. This is something I’ve wanted to build for years, and this weekend, thanks to the power of AI, I’ve made significant progress that would have normally taken much longer.
What is Enkihost?
Enkihost is a managed hosting platform designed for the Ruby ecosystem. While our ultimate goal is to provide seamless hosting for Ruby on Rails, Sinatra, and Jekyll, we are currently in a Proof of Concept (PoC) phase. At this moment, the service is exclusively available for Jekyll sites deployed from public repositories.
While this is just the beginning, I am already planning the next steps, including automatic deployments from private repositories and full support for dynamic Ruby applications.
A Perfect Duo: Enkihost & Enkimail
Enkihost is my favorite project alongside Enkimail.com. Enkimail is an email platform that provides a specialized gem to manage all user emails once their domains have been validated. Together, these tools aim to simplify infrastructure and communication for Ruby developers.
Current Status and Road Map
Since we are in the early stages, please keep a few things in mind:
- Broad Vision: We are starting with Jekyll, but Rails and Sinatra support is coming.
- Indicative Pricing: The current prices are for reference only.
- Account Upgrades: The ability to upgrade to a higher-tier account is not yet functional, but it will be available soon.
- Proof of Concept: The current focus is on stable deployments from public repos.
Join the Journey
I’ve been dreaming of this project for years, and it’s finally taking shape. If you’re interested in seeing how Enkihost grows and want to be part of its evolution, I encourage you to create an account and start testing it out.
This is just the start of something big!
